10/26/2005	The SHS Schedule Checker for the TI-83 Plus has been updated for the new daily schedule! Download it now and always know the schedule...except, of course, if you don't know what time it is. (c:=
9/23/2005	The sports system has been changed to pull data from Schedule Star, the service the Athletic department is now using. So now you can enjoy up-to-date schedules without having to go to a separate website! Enjoy!
11/7/2004	The guestbook has been disabled, because almost all of the entries were inappropriate, and the SOTW staff has been unable to keep up with removing them. Sorry for the inconvenience.
8/31/2004	The daily schedule has changed slightly! There is now a five minute passing time between each lunch period, making the entire lunch block 100 mintues! The updated schedule is available in the schedule section.
12/18/2003	Winter sports schedules are now available in the sports section. Enjoy!
12/16/2003	A new headline has been added to the main page, explaning how this is a student-run website, and where to find the "official" Staples website. In addition, the style sheets have been updated to make the fonts (especially font sizes) more consistent between browsers. Now, the site looks almost the same in IE and Mozilla-based browsers!
12/11/2003	A major glitch in the Sister City Chat Room has been fixed. This glitch caused the chat room itself to not display messages, although they were written directly to the archive. The room should now function correctly, and as a part of the fixing process the archive has been purged. Enjoy!
11/26/2003	The guestbook, containing more than 300 entries, takes a long time to load, even with a high speed connection. So due to popular demand, the guestbook now shows 30 entries per page, with the most recent entries on top. Hope this makes things easier (and faster)!
9/12/2003	The Fall Sports Schedules are finally available! Again, we'd like to apologize for the long delay. To make up for it, we have added two new features: you can now see on the main sports page any events happening "today," and you can also see any schedule changes posted within the last 3 days! Enjoy!

8/11/2003	A whole slew of updates today! Opening Days 2003 and the Summer Reading Assignment have been added, as well as a new page, Summer Assignments 2003, which lists and has links to many of the summer assignments required of courses at Staples.
6/10/2003	Two changes have been moved since the Master Schedule's initial release. AP Physics C, period 8 (196-001) has moved to period 7, and AP Physics B, period 7 (194-3) has moved to period 8. These changes have been reflected in the online version of the Master Schedule.
6/6/2003	The Master Schedule for 2003-2004 is now available online! Start planning your schedule for next year!
5/27/2003	Information for the Staples Scholar Athlete Banquet is now available! It will be held Wednesday, June 4th, at 6:00pm at the Continental Manor in Norwalk.
5/26/2003	The special schedule for the last day of classes (6/11) is now available, as is the exam schedule. The end is near!
5/23/2003	Have you ever struggled over making flashcards to study for a test? Now you can create and access them online via the new Flashcards system! Check it out at flashcards.stapleshigh.net!
5/6/2003	The special schedule for Thursday, May 8th has been changed from what was originally sent home to parents and published online. The corrected version is now available online, and is also in Tuesday's News and posted outside the main office.
4/30/2003	The AP Exam Schedule is now available in the General Info section. For your testing room, check the large poster outside the main office.
4/21/2003	The listings of "home" sports games on the TV Announcement System are now organized by location, so that one can differntiate between games occurring at Staples or at another town facility, such as Wakeman Field. Complete sports schedules are also available online in the Sports section!
4/13/2003	The End of Year Activities Calendar 2003 is now available in the General Info section!
4/8/2003	Spring sports schedules are now available in the sports section!
3/31/2003	The CAPT Schedule is now available in the General Info section, including special schedule handouts!
3/25/2003	Dr. John Brady was named permanent principal of Staples High School, effective March 25.
3/4/2003	The Renovation News, AP Exam Schedule, and the CAPT Schedule have all been tempoarily removed until we have the most recent information. We apologize for any confusion caused by the out-of-date information.
1/28/2003	The 2003/2004 Course Catalog is now available in the General Info section!
1/27/2003	There is an error on page 30 of the 2002-03 Student-Parent Handbook. On February 24, the Monday following Winter Recess, school and classes ARE scheduled for students and staff. The designation as “No School for Students” was an error. Student attendance on February 24 will be both expected and recorded. This error has been corrected in the online version of this handbook.
1/16/2003	Due to a computer glitch, freshman sports schedules were not uploaded this winter! We have corrected this issue, and apologize for the inconvenience.

1/13/2003	The complete exam schedule is now available in the General Info section!

12/19/2002	We now have music on channel 78 to listen to while reading the announcements! Currently playing is the Candlelight Concert.
12/4/2002	Cablevision has changed the channel line up! The Educational Access channel has been moved from channel 72 to channel 78. Check there for the TV Announcement System, North Ave. News, and more!
10/1/2002	A big day of updates! The Faculty Section has been updated with the latest faculty directory for this year. The Master Schedule has been updated to the most recent version, including room numbers. To top it all off, our sports captains now have the ability to post scores directly to the website, allowing for up-to-date information from the Sports System. Enjoy all of these updates!
9/28/2002	The Staples Wreckers won the homecoming football game against Trinity 42-0. Go Wreckers!

8/22/2002	Copies of the 2002 Graduation Video are now available on VHS from the TV Studio. Copies will also be available on DVD, but must be preordered. Call Jim Honeycutt at 341-1380 for more information.
8/16/2002	School is going to start in less than two weeks! In preparation we have posted a copy of Opening Days 2002 in the General Info section, containing everything you need to know about the first two days of school. The special schedules contained within are also available from the Schedule System.

6/3/2002	The 2002-2003 Master Schedule is now available online from the Master Schedule system! Now, not only can you apply filters, and choose which column to sort by, you can even perform a keyword search! Check it out; planning your schedule has never been easier!

2/28/2002	Today we created a page in the General Info explaining how to use your Y-Drive from home using the Internet. Check it out!
2/3/2002	Today we created the new and improved Master Schedule System! Now, not only can you view the entire master schedule, but you can view only parts of it! You can filter it by department, class, period, semester, teacher, or any combination of the 5! It makes it much easier to plan your schedule, as well as find where a teacher is! Check it out!
2/2/2002	The groundhog forecasted six more weeks of winter. We also added a new section to General Info: the TV Schedule! The schedule lists what is showing when on channel 72, Staples' TV station. The schedule will soon expand as well, as we have recently acquired a third tape deck.
1/29/2002	Today we added the School Calendar for 2002-2003 to the General Info section. Check out the calendar for next year! We also added the Full Staff List to the Faculty section.
1/24/2002	Today we added a bunch of links to the American Government area of the Research section that are helpful in researching Supreme Court cases! Enjoy!
1/3/2002	There is now an informational page in the General Info section about how exams work. It addresses general concerns, and contains the exam schedule. Check it out!

10/11/2001	Today the latest edition of the Student/Parent Handbook for 2001-2002 was finally added! This will be the first of many updates...soon the faculty section will be updated as well!
10/3/2001	Today the Schedule System was updated with a calculator program: SHS Schedule Checker 3.2 for the TI-83 Plus! This calculator program allows you to enter the current day and time, and it will return information about the current period, similar to the TV System! Check it out!
9/19/2001	Fall sports schedules were finally uploaded today! Check them out in the new sports site!
8/29/2001	Today is officially the first day of school, and yet another new part of the site has been released today! The new Sports System, which has been under development for months, is finally here! You get schedules and records essentially the same way, but now the coaches can update the information themselves, which means it will be more up-to-date! Coaches will be given accounts which they can use to add schedule information, add scores, and add team information such as a link to a team homepage, a list of captains, and more. Coaches may also issue limited access accounts to trusted students, such as captains, so that they can add scores as well.
8/27/2001	The Site Map was updated today! It is now up to date, and in a slightly easier format.
8/26/2001	Today a new feature was added to the TV System: a countdown until buses leave at the end of the day! Similar to the ten minute countdown until school starts, this counts down to 10 minutes after school ends, when the buses leave. Please note that you should allow for an extra minute or two, just in case the buses leave early one day...it could happen!
8/25/2001	Today the new Schedule Section was released! Ever wonder about an upcoming modified schedule, or come in to school and find out that there is one, but don't know where to find it? Now, you can get any upcoming modified schedule online! You can also get the normal daily schedule for any day Monday-Friday, as well as any previous modified schedules dating back to June, 1999!
7/8/2001	The Sister City Message Board is now up and running for teachers and students to post questions and comments about other cultures.
6/22/2001	Sister City site being updated. New PHP Chat program lets students communicate with exchange students and teachers. Chat Archives available.

5/15/1999	The latest and greatest revision of Staples on the Web has finally become a reality! Just three days ago we received our brand-new web server (we call him "Tron") and the rest is history! So what's so great about this revision of the Staples website? Well, it provides you with up-to-date news from Inklings, the weekly announcements on the TV's, or general notes from us here on the Web Team (what you're reading right now!). We provide you with sports scores and schedules. There is also much more general information available including anounements for the school, papers that need to be handed in, and other forms and materials. Or perhaps you've lost your student handbook? Well you can find it here online! Do you need help doing some research for an assignment? We can help you out with our comprehensive research engine! Perhaps you're interested in certain clubs here at Staples? Then check out our clubs pages where you can find out exactly what they're all about! Our faculty pages provide you with a means of contacting the faculty here at Staples, be it by their phone number or e-mail! Check out the About Us page to see us (the webmasters) brag about their feats and to learn more about the Computer Club. Maybe you'd like to learn more about our sister city, Yangzhou, China? Well look no further! You'll find a means of learning more about it and the exchange program that several of our teachers have participated in! For a more comprehensive map as to "what is where" on our new web site, just check out our Site Map. This is not all that we have to offer though. We still have many other big projects planned for our web site, such as a Quicktime VR Virtual Tour of our entire school. We hope that our site is useful to you.
