SHS Schedule Checker 3.3 for the TI-83 Plus
SHS Schedule Checker 3.3 is a calculator program designed for
the TI-83 Plus. You can use it to see what period it is, what
period is next, and how many minutes are left until the end of the period.
This is similar to the TV System,
but you have to enter the time and day yourself.
To download this program onto your calculator, you must have
TI-GraphLink or the newer TI Connect. If you don't have it, you can only get the program
from someone who already has it on their calculator.

How to use it:
Start the program using your calculator's program menu. Press enter on the title
screen. Then enter the current hour (such as 10), and then the current
minute (such as 27). Then, if the time is valid and during the normal
school day, you'll be asked what day of the week it is. Either choose the day from
the menu using the arrow keys and enter, or simply press the corresponding number.
Then, the current period information will be displayed to you. Press enter to
quit the program. (The program pauses at the end to allow you to run the program
from within another program, such as a shell.)
Variable Note: Please note that this program will re-use and delete
the following variables in your calculator: D, E, H, L, M, T, Str1, Str2.
Revision History:
| 10/26/2005: |
Today version 3.3 was released, with the following improvements:
- Updated for the new daily schedule.
- Added spaces to have the current period line up with the next period.
|
| 10/10/2001: |
Today the site was finished, and the screen shots were uploaded. |
| 10/3/2001: |
Today this site was created, and the schedule program was first uploaded
to the Internet. Also, version 3.2 was released today.
Features:
- Bug fix: Entering a time between 2:00 and 2:14 on Monday or Friday caused
the time left to be displayed as a negative number. This is because it subtracted
40 when it wasn't supposed to, due to a typo.
- The countdown to when buses leave was added.
|
| 7/28/2001: |
Today version 3.1 was released.
Features:
- Updated for the new daily schedule.
|
| 6/16/2000 |
Today version 3.0 was released.
Features:
- Bug fix: Entering a time between 12:55 and 12:59 on Wednesdays
or Thursdays caused the time remaining to be incorrectly reported.
This is because version 2.0 calculated time remaining by subtracting 40
from the primary calculation (end time minus current time) if the time
remaining was greater than the period length, which seemed like a pretty good
way to determine whether it needed to subtract 40 or not. However, between
12:55 and 12:59 on Wednesdays and Thursdays was the rare time that the incorrect
reading (that would've been corrected by subtracting 40) was actually less than
the period length. It now checks to see if it needs to subtract
40 or not by checking to see if the current hour is not the same as the hour
when the period ends. (Why does it have to subtract 40, you ask? Well,
the hour and minute you enter are combined to make a number such as 830 for
8:30. Although 840-830 will be correct, 910-830 wouldn't because you can't
make a calculator skip the 40 integers between 860 and 900. Hence, subtracting
40 if the hour is different...)
- Updated for new daily schedules. (Numbers instead of letters)
- Current period information now on one screen again (like in 1.0)
as opposed to the two-screen layout of 2.0.
- Pauses inserted anywhere the program terminates to allow the output
to be read in case the screen is cleared when the program terminates,
which could occur when calling the program from within another
program.
- Stop's changed to Return's to allow you to call the schedule program
from within another program. Before, if you called it from within another
program in would return to the home screen upon termination instead of
returning to the parent program.
