Students have an opportunity earn school credit for contributing their time and talent to school and community volunteer programs. Activities might include any of the following: tutoring students, working as a volunteer in any of the Westport schools, working as a volunteer in special education programs, working as a volunteer at the Nature Center, the YMCA, the Town Recreation Department or in any of the other local volunteer agencies. Arrangements for community service must be made through the student’s guidance counselor and credit is provided via an independent study contract. Second semester seniors must enroll in the Senior Option Program in order to receive credit.
