The Westport School System has entered into a teacher exchange with its sister city, Yangzhou, China. As a result, a stimulating educational opportunity is now open to all students at Staples. “Chinese Language and Culture” will be open to 18 students each semester. Students will learn introductory basic principles of Mandarin Chinese in both written and spoken form, and will also be introduced to selected topics of Chinese art, cuisine, music and everyday life in China today. The class will meet weekly, and students who successfully complete the seminar will earn ½ general credit.
