Jim served as the teacher advisor for the Staples High School website redesign project. He was a key element in providing funding for our webserver (tron). Jim also made many important trips to Dunkin Donuts to provide incentive for the students. Jim has taught several courses at Staples including Desktop Publishing, Multimedia Offering, Computer Problem Solving and Computer Science A (C++). He now teaches TV, Audio, and Radio Production, and has passed the reigns of club advisor on to David Soriano so that he can focus on media.

(Programmer, Sister City Webmaster)
Contact: joel@junker.org

Joel, while new to Computer Club, was assigned to work on the Sister City site. Joel also worked on programming certain new parts of the site, such as the Flashcards system.

Joel is also the Webmaster of ChiFitness.com, the Official site of ChiFitness of Westport. Joel often claims to have nightmares about being forced to edit code that has been created by lame web page creating programs.

Joel is currently attending UCONN in Stamford.

Tom Hessman Tom Hessman (2003)
(Computer Club President, Head Webmaster, Programmer)
Contact: http://tkh16.junker.org/contact.php
Homepage: http://tkh16.junker.org/

Tom was a member of the Computer Club all of his four years at Staples. He was President since his Junior year, and is responsible for many improvements to this website, including the Sports section, the Schedule Handout system, the Master Schedule system, the clubs system (not yet released), the WWPT site (not yet released), as well as a new, dynamic back end for most of the site. Tom was also responsible for all the content updates to this website and the TV Announcement System, including the posting of modified schedules and the updating of sports schedules.

Outside of Computer Club, Tom was also heavily involved in TV and Audio Production at Staples. He was a cameraman for most major events at Staples that are recorded, such as the Candlelight and Spring Concerts, and helped to edit and produce the final product for many as well. Tom was key in the production of North Avenue News (a weekly show combining news from Staples, Bedford, and Coleytown Middle) during the 2002-2003 school year, producing the final version of most episodes of it himself by the end of the year. He also worked on most episodes of Staples Sports Scoreboard, as well as other "live" shows throughout the year. Tom also worked with the WWII Memories Group at the Westport Senior Center to produce a video containing clips of their speakers and their stories. Tom became much more involved in Audio Production his Senior year, and in addition to participating in most recording sessions, helped to produce many of the CD's released by the media lab during the 2002-2003 school year, including the Candlelight Concert CD. That Fall, when WWPT was broadcasting the weekly announcements weekday mornings from 7:00-9:00, Tom did the post-production on most of those recordings every week.

Tom graduated Staples with honors on June 20, 2003. At Awards Night three days earlier, he received the Award for Excellence in Audio, the Award for Excellence in Video, and the Nathan Faber District-Wide Technology Service Award. Tom attended the College of Arts and Science at New York University for three years, where he was the President of Computer Advocacy at NYU and was majoring in Computer Science. He later transferred to NYIT in order to study Electronics & Information Security. Tom has interned for Ed Skoudis of Inguardians and SANS since 2005. He is also still involved with the Staples Media Group, through which he is often still involved with Players shows. He hopes that this website, and the Computer Club, will continue to grow and prosper!
